St Charles Hospital //
ward interiors with a positive vibe
In partnership with The Nightingale Project, Katy was commissioned to transform the ward spaces at St Charles Hospital in Kensington, west London. The task: create mood-lifting environments that balance a vibrant creative spirit with the calming qualities essential to mental healthcare environments.
For the communal areas of the wards, designs replaced the traditional, institutional off-white with bold, playful designs inspired by abstract quilting patterns. Artworks were carefully conceived and crafted to enliven the shared spaces of the wards, respecting their function as both workplaces and respite areas.
A neutral, calming colour palette was integrated to ensure the designs complemented the therapeutic environment.
