Practice
My practice is grounded in experimental silkscreen printmaking and a process shaped by chance, repetition and material imperfections. Photography, halftone imagery and the language of commercial printing are often starting points, which I manipulate through layers, stencils, monoprinting and improvisation.
I am interested in what happens when an image moves beyond the page — onto plywood, fabric, walls, windows and floors — and how scale, colour and repetition can alter our experience of a space. This allows the studio practice to move naturally into installations and site-specific work, particularly in relation to architecture and the built environment.

Biography
Katy Binks is a London-based artist whose practice sits between print, painting and object. Working primarily with experimental silkscreen printmaking, she explores image, surface, colour and the relationship between people and the built environment. Her work moves between intimate works on paper and larger-scale installations, murals and site-specific commissions.
Katy studied Drawing & Printmaking at the University of East London, graduating in 2008, before completing an MA in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Arts. In 2024 she completed the MASS Sculpture Programme.
